A few sensible questions

Does everyone need the app?

The MVP is designed to support personal phones and a shared table view, with one Host phone recording when everyone present agrees. Native verification of the new flow is in progress.

Is every discussion really recorded?

Recording is optional. The proposed flow asks everyone, including guests, for permission before the Host opens the microphone, then records the notice and each attendee’s own response before discussion. Recording remains disabled pending policy, service and device acceptance. A circle can meet without recording.

Does Commonplace promise friendship?

No. Commonplace cannot manufacture friendship. It makes a stable, repeated setting around a shared book easier to maintain.

Can members delete their accounts?

The app has account export and erasure controls. In the implemented one-phone flow, erasing a represented participant removes the affected shared transcript and recap and schedules its audio for deletion. Independent records and consent metadata with the account link removed may remain. Live purge and offline-phone cleanup still need release evidence.

What does it cost?

The Commonplace MVP is free for Owners, Hosts, and Participants. There are no subscriptions, customer AI allowances, or paid history unlocks.
