Delete your account

In the app

Open Settings, choose Privacy & data, then choose Delete account. Transfer or close any active clubs you own, review the disclosure and confirm with your account email. The deletion request is not blocked by a historical subscription.

What deletion does

Commonplace removes account-scoped records and queues applicable raw-audio and provider cleanup. For a one-phone room recording in which the account is represented, the implemented erasure path also removes the shared transcript, recap and related derivatives and makes associated audio due for deletion. Actual storage purge and device-cleanup evidence is still required before those recording operations are represented as live.

Independent guides, unrelated circle records and some historical shared records can remain. Consent decision metadata may remain with the account link removed; this does not mean recorded voices or consent transcript text are kept indefinitely. Offline original phones remove matching files after they receive a confirmed erasure instruction. Provider cleanup retries when a service is unavailable, so request acceptance is not proof of completed deletion everywhere.

Apple subscription

Deleting the account does not cancel billing through Apple. Use Apple’s subscription settings to manage any historical subscription separately.

Cannot access the app?

Email hello@commonplacebookclub.com from the address associated with the account. Guests without an account can use the same address for privacy requests. Commonplace will verify the request and identify the affected record before acting.
