Eligibility and account responsibility

Commonplace is for people who are 18 or older. You are responsible for accurate account information, your sign-in credentials, and activity performed through your account.

Use the service lawfully and respect the privacy, safety, and intellectual property of other circle members. Reports are reviewed by the Commonplace team; hosts can remove members, and members can block another member.

Recording and shared content

Recording is optional and remains subject to release readiness. Before opening the Host phone’s microphone, obtain every attendee’s permission to record the notice and their response, including guests without an account. Record the notice and actual affirmative responses before beginning discussion. If anyone refuses or is unclear, continue without recording. Pause locally for an arrival, withdrawal or interruption; resolve attendance and consent before explicitly resuming.

You retain rights in content you author. You grant Commonplace the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and share it with the relevant circle. Account deletion can remove an affected shared room recording and its transcript and recap for the whole circle. Independent shared records may remain under the Privacy notice.

AI output

Transcripts, summaries, archive answers, and other AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Review important output against the conversation and source material. Commonplace does not provide legal, medical, financial, educational-placement, or crisis advice.

Free MVP and historical subscriptions

The Commonplace MVP does not offer paid subscriptions, AI allowances, or paid unlocks. Any pre-existing Apple subscription is managed through Apple’s subscription settings.

Deleting a Commonplace account does not itself cancel an Apple subscription. Use Apple’s subscription settings for any historical subscription; an eligible deletion request is not blocked.

Service changes and contact

Commonplace can change or discontinue features, suspend abusive accounts, and update these terms prospectively. Material changes will be presented through the service when required. Contact hello@commonplacebookclub.com with questions.
